Course – A 0.67 mile loop comprising macadam (blacktop). Weather conditions on day of event will determine whether or not we use the gravel road and dirt trails. Click here for a map of the loop. (That’s the old loop – let me re-do that!)
Location – Clark Road Entrance to Harborcreek Community Park.
COVID: Social distancing is still encouraged. This race will be chip-timed, and congregating at the finish line is discouraged. There will be no support on course beyond pre-packaged food items and bottled beverages. Participants are encouraged to self-support using the parking available along the course in the Clark Road parking lot.
The primary purpose of this event is to promote cardiovascular fitness in a safe, relaxed and friendly environment. Many individuals will run/walk a distance beyond that they have previously achieved or set a personal goal that is meaningful to them. It is a personal thing and not a competition with other participants.
There are no trophies or prize money to be handed out but we will commemorate your mileage and times.
This event was started 30+ years ago by some of the founding fathers of the Erie Runners Club to test the endurance of some of the local runners. It still stands today as a personal test of one’s endurance whether it be running or walking or any combination thereof because of the tireless efforts of Rick Ferko and his long time volunteers. Rick’s battle with cancer ended shortly after the 2006 Endurance Run.
Rick’s commitment to Social Work and the local community impacted many lives and charitable causes.
